Regular Season Round 36: LG Sakers - Anyang 55-70

The most important game in the last round took place in Changwon between second rankedSakers (25-15) and eighth ranked Anyang (15-25) on Saturday night. Sakers were defeated by Anyang at home 55-70 . It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Sakers. Strangely LG Sakers outrebounded Anyang 51-36 including a 23-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for Filipino Javier Gomez De Liano (195-1998) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 7 rebounds. American swingman Deonte Burton (193-1994, college: Iowa St.) contributed with 5 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American power forward Darryl Monroe (202-1986, college: GMU) replied with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 15 rebounds and Filipino forward Carl Tamayo (200-2001) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for LG Sakers. Sakers' coach rotated eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Anyang moved-up to seventh place. LG Sakers at the other side keep the second position with 15 games lost. Anyang are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Seoul Thunders (#10) on the road in the next round. LG Sakers will play against KoGas (#5) in Inchon and are hoping to win this game.
